Lisa Hettinger has over 20 years of leadership experience in business and strategic health care positions in Idaho focusing on improving the quality of health care as well as reform of the healthcare payment and delivery system. Lisa has been with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare since 2011. Currently, she is the Deputy Director with responsibility for the Divisions of Behavioral Health, Public Health, Medicaid, and Office of Healthcare Policy Initiatives. Before this role at IDHW, she was the Medicaid Administrator and Medicaid Director for Idaho.
Through collaborative leadership, she has successfully implemented numerous statewide healthcare initiatives, including, piloting and expanding the Patient Centered Medical Home business model, which has started to bend the cost curve for Idaho’s healthcare expenditures and lays a solid foundation on which to build successful value-based purchasing. Prior to working for the state of Idaho, she worked at a medical and industrial supply company. Lisa holds an MBA in Healthcare Administration.
